Social media’s influence in various aspects of our lives has been growing steadily. For instance, it plays a vital role in mobile commerce, as evidenced by the 65% of smartphone owners (between the ages of 18 and 44) who admit to relying on social media to help make purchase decisions. However, only 4% of these users chose ‘discovering new products’ and ‘finding great deals’ as primary benefits they seek from social apps.

With 91% of our respondents using a social media account or app on their mobile phones, it’s interesting to note the biggest concerns that keep the rest from doing the same. The leading issues are battery/memory drain (37%), distraction from work (32%), intrusiveness (16%), and security concerns (16%).
